For years, the Southern California Medical Museum has been working hard to preserve countless numbers of historical artifacts related to medical history, housing everything from Civil War era implements to turn-of-the-century miracle remedies and elixirs.
Southern California Medical Museum- Explore the Old West, medically
The Southern California Medical building was first founded in Colton, California, by a San Bernardino County Medical Society. Today, it resides in Riverside, California. Their goal is to accumulate and preserve all types of medical artifacts for the purpose of historical presentation, in addition to providing lectures and photography exhibits that showcase the use of medical technology and philosophy throughout the ages.
Through various donations, the Southern California Medical historical building is able to continue educating the public about the evolution of medicine, so that health professionals, students, and history buffs alike can appreciate how far we’ve come in the advancement of innovative medical technologies, such as medical imaging, surgical procedures, and other life-saving intervention techniques for treating cardiovascular disease, lung cancer, and brain tumors.
