Southern California ASC construction in shopping malls is one of the hottest trends in healthcare today, with over one-third of all retail center projects utilizing medical construction to completely restore and design older commercial plots. Medical contractors are hurrying to meet the demands of the populace. According to reports, more Americans needing quick surgery opt for outpatient ASC’s in lieu of the tradition hospital. Many Southern California ambulatory surgery centers offer multiple operating rooms dedicated to orthopedics, ophthalmology, gastric surgery, and other procedures that don’t require a long hospital stay.

Southern California ASC construction headlines

Bloomberg Businessweek reported an increase in medical walk-in clinics situated in shopping malls. Since 2009, more than nine thousand outpatient centers have popped up in various mega-malls around the States. About a third includes ASC’s and urgent care centers that elected to renovate an abandoned space using a qualified medical construction contractor. Similarly, Barclays analyst Joshua Raskin says to expect even more construction of outpatient centers in 2015, calling it the biggest healthcare trend “since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965,” adding that ASC’s are “further along in developing an outpatient strategy that can retain potential out-migration from their acute care facilities.”
